The iDScore 2021 for Palmo-plantar lesions
The non-invasive differentiation of atypical nevi (AN) and early melanomas (EM) localized on palms and soles rest a daily challenge for dermatologists. Dermoscopic algorithms were developed to date to provide a more standardized approach and support dermoscopists in the managment of these difficult melanocytic skin lesions (MSLs).(1,2) However, the addiction to data of the clinical history of the patient and of specific clinical features of the lesion could possibly increase the diagnostic accuracy of these checklists.(3,4)
We here aim to develop and validate an integrated clinic-dermoscopic scoring system based algorithm dedicated to AN and EM of palms and soles.
The list of clinical-personal data to be evaluated for the the iDSCore 2022-palm&soles will include:
Sex
Age
Diameter
Chronic traumatism
Multiple common nevi or dysplastic nevi
Detailed palmar or plantar site
Beside the histological diangosis of AN / EM, some histologic parameters will be also evaluated, such as:
Thickness
Mythoses
Regression
Lymphocytic infiltrate
