iDScore - Privacy policy
The processing of personal data of users interacting with the website www.idscore.net (the “iDScore Platform”), particularly (a) of investigator (the “Investigator”) providing images and clinical data to be collected into the iDScore Image Bank and (b) of volunteer (the “Tester”) performing the skill tests, is subject to applicable data protection law, including but not limited to the European General Data Protection Regulation dated April 27, 2016 (GDPR) and this privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”).
This Privacy Policy outlines the information the Platform collects, how we use that information, and how you can control how your information is shared. This Privacy Policy applies only to the iDScore Platform, operated by the University of Siena, via Banchi di Sotto 55, 53100 Siena, Italy (the "Operator"). Please be aware that when you follow a link to another site, this Privacy Policy does not apply, and the iDScore Platform has no control over what information they collect from you.
The Information We Collect, And What We Do With It
iDScore Image Bank service
In the iDScore Platform, images and clinical data are provided to the image bank by a pool of Scientific Clinical Institutions (the “Sites”), which are partner of the iDScore Programme. To interact with the iDScore Platform in order to provide images and clinical data to the iDScore Image Bank, the iDScore Platform provides each Site with a specific anonymous account (the “Pseudo User”). Public access to the iDScore Platform services related to the iDScore Image Bank is granted only to the Pseudo User account pool.
Skill Testing services
In the iDScore Platform, each Site invites a pool of Tester to voluntarily perform the iDScore skill tests. In the Platform, each Tester is identified by the email account provided by the inviting Site and associated to a unique anonymous alphanumeric sequence (the “Token”). During the skill tests, we may also request that you provide additional “optional information” such as age and years of experience in specific expertise, for purposes of enhancing your profile for scientific research purposes. Any “optional information” you choose to provide may be made public only in aggregate mode. We may also use this information to improve your experience with the testing services.
Cookies
The iDScore Platform also may send one or more cookies - a small file that lives in your web browser that helps the Service operate with full functionality (such as keeping you logged into the service). Most web browsers allow you to disable cookies, and you are welcome to continue to use the Service if you choose to do so. However, some of the Service’s features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
The iDScore Platform’s user data is stored in cloud facilities hosted by Google Inc., and its servers log some information whenever you access the the iDScore Platform; information such as your IP address, the time of your visit, your browser type and your browser's language setting.
If you send a communication to the Operator, we may hold onto that communication so that we can respond appropriately, and so that we can incorporate your feedback to improve the the iDScore Platform.
The iDScore Platform collects all the information you provide when you modify the content of a page (such as making edits, uploading images, etc.) and can use these information to provide report aggregate indicators of your contributions, such as dashboards or progress indicators.
Google Analytics
The iDScore Platform may collect information about your computer, including your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and in order to create reports. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.
Google Analytics is a web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how visitors engage with their website. Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so that they can improve it.
Like many services, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to track visitor interactions as in our case, where they are used to collect information about how visitors use our site. We then use the information to compile reports and to help us improve our site.
Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. These cookies are used to store information, such as the time that the current visit occurred, whether the visitor has been to the site before and what site referred the visitor to the web page.
Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. Sharing Your Information
The iDScore Platform only shares your information with others in the following circumstances:
As described above.
With affiliated entities, companies, contractors, and vendors. We require these parties to process your information in compliance with this Privacy Policy.
As required by law enforcement agencies.
As we, in our sole judgment, deem necessary to investigate a breach of security.
As necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contractual relationship.
If the Operator becomes involved in substantial changes affecting the iDScore Platform, we will provide notice to you, via an update to this Privacy Policy, of any personal information to be transferred and/or subject to a different policy.
We may also share with third parties aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of images contributions over a specific time period or the number of volunteers who undergone the skill tests.
All questions or comments regarding the iDScore Platform should be submitted to the email address identified in the "Helpdesk" section of the iDScore Platform. Depending on your jurisdiction, you also may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority competent for your country or region.
